Projects, History and Export

Xen saves a code project when a completed response provides complete MQL5 source. The project retains its task, model, conversation and latest source. If saving fails, download the returned file and resolve the problem before relying on Projects.

Open Projects to find previous work and give it a descriptive name. Reopening restores the saved context, but changes made independently in MetaEditor still need to be supplied before another request. A saved project cannot detect edits on your computer.

Keep useful snapshots

History becomes available after a source snapshot is saved. Xen creates one when complete generated source changes. Select a revision to inspect its source and generating prompt, then copy or download it for local comparison.

Pin important versions, such as a compiled baseline or a revision that passed a test. A pin protects it from bulk unpinned-history cleanup; it is not an independent backup. Keep the source, dependencies and test settings locally as well.

Restore an earlier version

Restore makes an earlier source revision current by creating a new current snapshot. Check that the restored file is the version you intend to compile and use for the next request. The later revisions remain part of the development record.

Repeat relevant tests after restoring, especially when local inputs or dependencies changed. The same EA can behave differently with another custom indicator or dataset. Record the source version used for each Strategy Tester report.

Export and delete work

Export provides an HTML record of the conversation and code. Review it before sharing because it can contain private trading logic and information from prompts. Download .mq5 files separately for compilation and local source records.

Delete all projects requires typing delete and removes projects and their snapshots. History also offers cleanup of unpinned revisions while retaining the current snapshot. Use Clear Task to start unrelated work when deletion is not your intention, and retain local backups before removing saved material.
