Create a TradingView Indicator from an Image

TradingView Xen can use a chart image or screenshot as a visual reference for a custom indicator. Image uploads are available for Build Indicator, Existing Indicator and Convert Indicator when the selected model supports vision.

A screenshot helps communicate line styles, markers, colours, labels, pane placement, support and resistance areas or other visible behaviour. It does not contain the original formula. Describe what each important element represents and how the indicator should calculate its values.

Upload a useful reference

Use a PNG, JPEG or WebP file no larger than 3 MB. Crop it so the relevant chart area and labels remain readable, and remove account details or personal information. Xen previews the image before submission and retains it with the request when generation starts.

Choose a model that supports images

GPT Sol 5.6, GPT 5.6 Luna and the available Claude models can process reference images. GPT Codex 5.3 does not. Xen disables image upload when the selected model lacks vision support and explains which alternatives are available. Model capabilities can change, so follow the current message inside the workspace.

From image to Pine Script

Xen uses the image together with your written requirements to create a new implementation; it does not recover hidden or proprietary source. Compile the result in Pine Editor and compare its plots and signals with the reference across representative symbols and timeframes. A visual resemblance does not prove identical calculations.

Continue in the same project for refinements to formulas, inputs, colours, alerts, labels or chart objects. State which visible feature needs adjustment rather than attaching a new image without explanation.
